Parent's Corner
General information
Many joys come from parenting an Irish dancer - watching your child accomplish goals, build deep and lasting friendships, develop self-confidence and poise, and share their love of Irish Dance with others. From the youngest tiny tot to the oldest Open Champion, the Cummins School welcomes all dancers and their families to our school. Cummins School of Irish Dance is fortunate to have a friendly, welcoming group of long-time parents who are happy to answer some questions that new families may have. Just asking around in the lobby of the Irish Center, the VFW, or the Oaklyn studio may get you the answer you need! Parents often ask how they can help their dancers outside of class. One of the best ways is to encourage practice at home. Ask the dancers to show you the steps or make it fun by asking them to teach you the steps. Having our dancers practice their steps to the music, in their dance shoes and in front of a mirror will help them maintain what they've learned between classes. |
